Summer!

During the past few days I've been studying photoshop, RAW-files and other things that have to do with "the computer part" of photography. Therefore, I didn't go out very much. I visited the Great Gray Owl two times during the week, but 2-3 hours of waiting and only a few glances of a very far-away owl didn't produce any good pictures.
But today the school season ended and summer holiday began! I started the ten-week-long vacation with visiting the Moorhens and the Goldeneyes in the little pond of Djäkneberget. Every bird was still there. Nothing have actually changed except that the little Goldeneyes have started to grow up. They are not a lot bigger, but they have grown. I have no pictures of them today, but I got some pictures of the Moorhen's chicks.

Changes

Hi! As you may have noticed, I have changed a few things in this blog. Unfortunately, the pictures are not very pleased with the changes. But hang on, I will try to make it right soon!
Now: Sleep! Tomorrow I will have a long day with a lot of cycling and (hopefully) lots of birds.

This evening, I decided to go to the dump to take some pictures of birds in the evening sun.

Djäkneberget

Goldeneye - Knipa - Kerceréce (Bucephala clangula)

When a male Mallard flew in to the pond, the female Goldeneye attacked it all the time, until it decided to hide in the grass. When the Goldeneye attacked, it attacked from under water and bit the Mallard!!

The Moorhen's chicks have moved out from the nest. There are now six juvenile and two adult Moorhens in the pond.

Common Swift

I took some pictures of Common Swifts hunting insects and flying around in the evening sun. I'm not very satisfied with the result, even if a few of them were sharp. I will propably try again tomorrow.
